Maddox Chain writes gothic country the way it used to sound before it got polished for radio — rawhide guitar, graveyard reverb, and lyrics that read like confessions left on a bar top. Recording under Dark Country Records, the project pulls from outlaw country, dark folk, and a little bit of doom, aimed at anyone who thinks a hymn and a threat can be the same song.
What started as short clips of half-finished songs on TikTok turned into a growing catalog — eight singles and counting since May 2026 — and a small but loyal congregation of listeners who show up for every new drop. The songs are short, the mood is long.
